Fully funded fellowships will be offered to qualified professionals with the potential to promote peace in areas of conflict in the world. Application deadline is Dec. 2.
Online, November 16, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Global unrest and the mounting need for leaders to seek out non-violent solutions to conflict have prompted Claremont Lincoln University to set up a new scholarship fund to help educate international change-makers for peace.
The Global Peacemakers Fellowship Program offers fully funded fellowships in the amount of $15,000 to professionals to pursue a master's degree in Interfaith Action at Claremont Lincoln University. Students may choose from several tracks that include designing a final capstone project that promotes international peace in the Middle East, South Asia or Africa through the practice of interfaith engagement.
The M.A. in Interfaith Action degree is intended for leaders in faith-based organizations, religious communities, nonprofit organizations and other public arenas in which religious multiplicity can be a source of conflict, yet also has the potential to become a rich resource for positive change.
The Fellowship Committee encourages applications from international students and students with interdisciplinary research interests in interfaith relations, peace and conflict resolution, religious studies, international affairs, and other closely related fields of study.

Applications will be reviewed by a committee and awards will be based on relevant experience, exceptional letters of recommendation and promise of academic excellence.
