CLU Named Claremont Chamber Nonprofit of the Year

Claremont Lincoln University praised for giving back to community with sponsorships for a community stage, major events and partnerships that encourage good will.

Claremont Lincoln University was lauded for its contributions to the community on Wednesday as the 2015 recipient of the Claremont Chamber of Commerce Business Award for Nonprofit of the Year.

The award was presented at the chamber's annual awards/installation luncheon at the Candlelight Pavilion, where CLU was recognized for its community stewardship and for building partnerships that encourage good will.

"This award means a lot to the university," CLU President Eileen Aranda said. "We feel a kindred connection to the city's values and are honored to be recognized as a contributing member of this vibrant community."

Claremont Lincoln University has supported the Claremont community and the Claremont Chamber in many ways. It was a major sponsor of the Women's Leadership Conference, title sponsor of the CLU Community Performance Stage at Shelton Park, and is a sponsor of the city's upcoming annual Fourth of July festivities. In the past, it has also sponsored Taste of Claremont, the Claremont Film Festival and more.

The university, which is focused on educating ethical leaders, peacemakers and promoters of social good, has been named a Compassionate University by the Charter for Compassion, and is an education partner with Do Good L.A., Interfaith Youth Core, Conscious Capitalism, the Parliament of Religions and a number of other socially conscious organizations.
